systems, the conveyor belt is the part of the system that actually
carries the material.
While some systems are very complex, these systems are usually comprised
of two pulleys that move a belt continuously over a series of rollers.

installation and maintenance of the conveyor system.
While the process of creating the belt is rather complex, at its most
basic level it involves the embedding of reinforcing material into
polymer slabs and vulcanizing it. The reinforcing material usually
consists of canvas, textile, steel cord, nylon, or some combination of
the above, while the polymer slab is usually comprised of rubber. The
strength of the belt is in large part determined by the type of
reinforcing material used and the number of layers.
When it comes to the movement of very heavy materials, for example in
the mining industry, extra strong conveyor belts are needed. In
these cases they belts are usually made using steel wire reinforced
conveyor belts with pretensioned cords.
Many industries have unique requirements for the belts used. The belts
used in underground mining, for instance, need to be flame resistant.
Other special requirements include belts that are alkali proof, acid
proof, chemical proof, and those that are resistant to either heat or
cold.
When it comes to heat and cold resistance wire mesh belts are often a
good solution. The mesh for these belts can be either tightly woven
or have larger holes to allow for the passage of air or water easily
through the belt. These belts can be constructed to hold a variety of
different weights and are most often seen in cooking lines, bakeries,
and freezing operations.
Belts can become slack over time. This will need to be corrected using
either automatic or manual tensioners. If you have a conveyor system
that needs to travel up a steep incline or travel at incredibly high
speeds a special type of belt will be needed.
