To move pallets from one location to another many organizations make use of pallet trucks.

Pallet trucks make moving pallets both easier and safer, while at the same time greatly reducing the amount of time needed to complete the task. Pallet trucks need to be very strong as the loads on a pallet are often extremely heavy, with most able to handle loads up to 4000 pounds. You find pallet trucks used in several different applications, from chemical and pharmaceutical factories to warehouses and retail stores.

There are pallet trucks which have been designed to work in some of the most difficult conditions, including environment that are very unsanitary or highly corrosive. Those pallet trucks used in chemical or pharmaceutical factories are often made from either zinc or stainless steel which has been coated in chrome and galvanized to resist even the most corrosive elements. You can find pallet trucks that work well in clean rooms and corrosive material handling.

There are many different types of pallet trucks for different applications. Some of the most commonly used are:

• Big wheeler pallet trucks – ideal for heavy loads or uneven floors
• Pallet trucks with scales – for loads that need to be weighed
• Wheel-nose pallet trucks – for pallets that will need to be placed in tight rows
• Specialty pallet trucks made from zinc or stainless steel – for corrosive or unsanitary environments
• Foldable pallet trucks – light duty pallet trucks that give increased flexibility and mobility
• Electric pallet trucks – which feature regenerative braking systems, battery backs, and AC motors.
• Economic pallet trucks
• "Freight-Saver" pallet trucks
• All-terrain pallet trucks

It is also possible to purchase any of these pallet trucks used. Check the web sites of the various pallet truck manufacturers for ordering information.
